Five Beers to Celebrate Five Years of NoFo

Published 10/03/24 | By Stephen Jones

< BACK

To mark NoFo Brew Co’s 5th Anniversary, we wanted to do something special—something that would celebrate the community we’ve been honored to be a part of, as well as our fellow craft breweries. We have been over the moon with gratitude since our doors opened, and five years of brewing and distilling is no small feat, so proper beverages are required to commemorate the occasion. To achieve this goal, we teamed up with some of our favorite local breweries to create five unique beers, each reflecting the collaboration, creativity, and passion that makes craft brewing so exciting in the first place.

Each of these beers is a labor of love, brewed with intention, and showcases the quality craftsmanship that our community takes such great pride in. Here’s a deep dive into the beers that made this milestone extra special.

Glacier Lookout | NZ Pilsner – Collab with Cherry Street

Our good friends down the road at Cherry Street helped us bring a little taste of the Southern Hemisphere to your glass. This 4.7% New Zealand Pilsner is light in body but full of bright, tropical flavors—think pineapple, citrus, and honeydew. The malt bill is anchored by Riverbend’s Cumberland Pilsner and Hickory King Corn, lending a crisp base for the showcase of “HopZilla” and Riwaka hops.

The name itself, Glacier Lookout, is inspired by the pristine, natural beauty of glaciers in Aoraki Mount Cook National Park, much like the clean, refreshing sip you’ll get from this pilsner. Whether you’re hiking in the mountains or relaxing on your porch, this is a beer that’s best enjoyed with a view.

Forest Falls | Czech-style Dark Lager – Collab with Good Word

If you think dark beers have to be heavy, Forest Falls will change your mind. Brewed in collaboration with Good Word, this Czech-style dark lager masterfully balances the depth of roasted malts with the clean finish of a light lager. Notes of caramel, toast, and a hint of espresso come through from the floor-malted German barley we used in this delightfully crisp dark beer.

Hold it up to the light, and you’ll see a kaleidoscope of colors, from deep amber to a rich black. Forest Falls is a quite drinkable, crisp lager at 3.9%, with just enough complexity to keep things interesting—perfect for the transition from warm days to cool evenings.

Mountain Tracks Vol. 3 |  NEIPA – Collab with Nocturnal Brewing

Mountain Tracks is back, and it’s only gotten better! For Volume 3, we partnered with Nocturnal Brewing to bring you a New England IPA that’s packed with juicy hops and layers of flavor. Strata and Mosaic hops take center stage, giving off bright aromatics of melon, citrus, and that signature hop resin, and at a nice sweet spot of 5.9% ABV.

We added hops at five different stages of brewing (yes, five—because it’s our anniversary, after all). The result? A medium-bodied, hazy IPA that’s full of depth without being too overpowering. Perfect for IPA lovers who enjoy a smooth, juicy finish.

Devil’s Bridge | German Altbier – Collab with Hyde Brewing

Inspired by the mysterious and beautiful Rakotzbrücke, or “Devil’s Bridge,” in Germany, this Altbier is a nod to brewing traditions that date back centuries. Brewed with Hyde Brewing, Devil’s Bridge is a malt-forward beer that showcases rich flavors of caramel, nuttiness, and toasted grains. Its copper-amber color mirrors the autumnal hues of the German countryside.

The malt bill includes Munich and Vienna malts from Riverbend Malt House, with hops like Hallertau and Saaz adding a delicate floral and peppery undertone. Coming in at 5.1%, if you’re looking for a beer that combines history, flavor, and craftsmanship, Devil’s Bridge is for you.

Heirloom Ale | Cream Ale – Collab with From the Earth

Heirloom Ale takes us back to the roots of American brewing. This Cream Ale, made in collaboration with From the Earth, celebrates a time when refrigeration was a luxury, and brewers relied on the coolness of caves to ferment their beer. Crafted with Cumberland Corn and Riverbend‘s 6-Row Barley, this beer is light-bodied and 4.4%, with a delicate sweetness that comes from the corn.

Expect bready, cracker-like flavors with just a hint of sweetness, balanced by herbal and spicy hops. The result is a beer that’s perfect for a laid-back afternoon—smooth, refreshing, and utterly timeless.

As we celebrate this 5-year milestone, we look forward to continuing to innovate, collaborate, and create new experiences for our community. These collaboration beers are a taste of what’s to come, and are on draft at all NoFo locations! Curious to see all the happenings at NoFo’s 5th year anniversary celebration? Visit our website.
